Description

I counted at least 14 domes in this photo, how many can you count?

This region is quite rich in domes, probably in past eras was a site of great volcanic activity, a region of volcanism so intense that was marked for eternity in the geological history of the moon.

Look closely at Milichius Dome (yellow arrow), see the magma's ejection hole perfectly obvious. In the Domes of Hydrangeus the same thing occurs.

For those who do not yet know, domes are formations of volcanic origin usually not very tall with one or more potholes at the top, but they are not always present. They are usually located near Mary's borders. The best time to try is to find these domes and near the

Terminator, when the sun is low on the lunar horizon. Instruments with larger diameters are recommended for observation.
